Have an Upcoming in person event? Don’t Forget to Whitelist Your IP!

If your team is hosting an event soon—whether it’s a gala, a walk, or just a day when a lot of people are making donations from the same place—here’s something you don’t want to overlook: make sure your IP address is whitelisted.
Why Whitelisting Matters
Blackbaud has security measures to protect against fraudulent activities, which include monitoring the IP addresses from which transactions originate. If a large volume of donations comes from an unrecognized IP address—common during events where multiple donations are processed from the same location—these transactions might be flagged or declined.
To prevent this, it’s essential to whitelist the IP addresses that will be used during your event.
Steps to Whitelist Your IP Addresses
- Identify the IPs that will be used to process transactions during the event.
- Reach out to Blackbaud with a request to whitelist those IPs ahead of time.
- Plan ahead, as propagation can take a few hours to a few days. Don’t wait until the day before your event!
