Parkinson’s Foundation - Tribute Fundraiser
The Parkinson’s Foundation wanted to increase engagement with their tribute fundraisers, encouraging more users to honor loved ones living with Parkinson’s or commemorate those who have passed from the disease. While the Foundation already had a Tribute Fundraiser set up in Blackbaud TeamRaiser®, they recognized the need for improvements before launching a major marketing push.
Our team partnered with Parkinson's Foundation to enhance their fundraising platform across three key areas: branding and accessibility, search functionality, and user experience.

Our Solution:
Look & Feel: Branding and Accessibility
We began by redesigning the tribute fundraising experience to better align with the Parkinson’s Foundation’s branding. The updated design offered a modern, visually appealing interface that better fit their visual identity while meeting accessibility standards. These changes ensured that setting up a tribute page was intuitive and inclusive for all users.
Enhancing Search Functionality
To improve the discoverability of tribute pages, we focused on optimizing the search experience across three main areas:

Highlighting Recent Fundraisers: We introduced a “Recently Created Tribute Pages” section on the homepage, making it easier for visitors to locate and engage with new fundraisers.

Improved Search Results: By modifying TeamRaiser Search functionality, we ensured that both the Tribute Page Name and the Tribute Page Creator were indexed in search results. This small but impactful change enhanced the clarity and usability of the search tool.

Visual Search Enhancements: Search results were further improved by incorporating tribute page images alongside names, creating a more engaging and user-friendly browsing experience.
Refining Tribute Pages
To maximize the impact of individual tribute pages, we implemented several enhancements:

Elevated Visual Storytelling: The design of tribute pages was revamped to spotlight personal stories and imagery, fostering deeper emotional connections.

Streamlined Donation Process: Prominent “Donate” buttons were added, making it simple for visitors to contribute directly from the tribute pages.

Interactive Guestbook Feature: A guestbook was integrated to allow friends and family to share memories, stories, and heartfelt wishes, enriching the tribute experience.

Customization Options: Recognizing the unique needs of each fundraiser, we added customization options for elements such as fundraising goals, thermometers, and donor lists, empowering users to tailor their pages to their preferences.
Optimizing User Flow

Seamless Registration and Donation Flow Built Customized from the DGD TR Template: The tribute fundraising platform was rebuilt based on the DGD TeamRaiser template and was further designed and customized to enhance the user experience. The result is a clean and intuitive registration process, streamlined donation forms, and an easy-to-navigate Participant Center for page creators.

Customized Language and Guidance: The language across the registration process and Participant Center was tailored to align with “Tribute Pages” rather than “Events with Teams and Participants.”
To further assist users, we created a step-by-step guide to walk them through the process of setting up their tribute pages.

- Children’s Wisconsin wanted to enhance their marketing emails beyond the sample blocks provided by Engaging Networks. The goal was to create blocks with new and unique designs that were still easily customized within the email builder and would look and function across various email clients.
- The Food Bank of Central Louisiana set out to elevate its donor experience and improve internal fundraising operations. To achieve this goal, they decided to move from DonorPerfect to Fundraise Up, seeking a more intuitive platform for staff and a more engaging, customizable giving experience for donors.
- Children's Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA) wanted to optimize and refresh its existing donation forms on Blackbaud Luminate Online®. The goal was to improve the donor experience with modern, user-friendly templates, ensure clean and efficient code, and implement best practices.
