TeamRaiser WordPress Integration: Embed a Live Fundraising Thermometer on Your Site

If your nonprofit runs peer-to-peer fundraising campaigns on Blackbaud Luminate Online® platform, you may have found getting that data onto your WordPress website has meant workarounds, iframes, or custom dev work for every campaign. We built a TeamRaiser WordPress integration plugin that solves this cleanly — pulling live data from the TeamRaiser API to render an animated fundraising thermometer on any page or post via a simple WordPress shortcode. No dev work per campaign. No copy-pasting numbers. Just live, accurate fundraising progress, on-brand and on your WordPress site!
What the Plugin Does
The plugin connects directly to the Luminate Online REST API and displays:
- A live-updated amount raised and fundraising goal
- An animated progress bar (thermometer) with percentage of goal achieved
- An optional thermometer icon that moves with the progress bar
- Customizable colors for fill, background, and text — all configurable from the admin panel
A lot of organizations rely on Luminate Online for the heavy lifting but want their WordPress site to do more than just link off to Blackbaud-hosted pages. Embedding live progress data keeps donors on your site, reinforces momentum, and gives your campaign page a more complete feel.
Admin Settings
In the WordPress admin panel, you’ve got the power to customize several style and display options to ensure your thermometer is on brand. This means you or your team can make changes without touching code! In the accordion style settings, you’ll see the following:

Under Thermometer Display Settings you can swap out brand colors (fill, unfilled, and text), upload a custom thermometer icon, and toggle which stats to show — raised amount, goal amount, and percentage. There’s even an option to remove “.00” cents for cleaner whole-dollar displays. Animation Settings even lets you control the easing of the thermometer animation.
**Bonus: A built-in test slider lets you preview the thermometer at any fill level during development!
Finally, under Shortcode a shortcode generator will spit out the code for you to copy/paste to your page or post. (No syntax to remember!)

Research from the M+R Benchmarks — an annual study tracking nonprofit digital fundraising trends — consistently shows that online giving is growing year over year, and that campaign pages with clear calls to action and visible progress indicators outperform those without. If you’re already thinking about how your WordPress site supports your broader fundraising strategy, embedding live progress data is worth the one-time setup.
