Project Overview
Elks National Foundation (ENF) wanted to create a new symbolic giving store that would allow donors to choose from a variety of symbolic gifts that represent their programs and the people that ENF serves.
The goal was an updated look and feel with streamlined navigation. ENF also wanted the option for donors to give their symbolic purchase as a gift in honor of someone special.
Using the ecommerce platform in Luminate Online, we built a custom, easy-to-use symbolic giving store that promotes ENF-funded Elks programs.
Our Solution
We began with a discovery session to understand client requirements and goals.
The items that were identified and successfully executed for this symbolic giving store include:
- Easy to use and navigate
- Updated look and feel, mobile responsive
- ‘How it Works’ page explaining symbolic giving and how the store works
- Symbolic gifts with different donation tiers
- Four giving categories for program areas
- 16 product pages that represent various program initiatives
- Photo or video embed on product pages
- Option for donors to gift in tribute with a personal message

The Results
The ‘Feel Good Giving’ store now provides donors with the opportunity to give symbolic gifts that represent the impact of their donations.
Each gift comes with the option to send (or print) an e-card to let someone know they’ve inspired the donor to give to the Elks National Foundation.
The project showcases how the Elks build stronger communities and inspires donors to engage in a meaningful way.
