NYU Langone Health wanted to enhance the donor experience by adding gamification and improving fundraising efficiency. By enhancing the donor experience, they can enhance their donor relationships, increase donor engagement, and provide donors with even more targeted communication. Our solution was to build a unique, custom member center in Luminate Online, which we named My Account.

Badge Strategy
Donors are able to ‘unlock’ badges as they hit certain milestones, this includes: meeting their fundraising goal, making their first gift, choosing their class year & program if they are an NYU alum, and more. Badges are shareable to be able to promote on social media.
Engagement Focused
The non-donor group also receives the My Account call-out in the quarterly eNews as well. The goal is to increase their engagement and learn more about how their giving makes a difference.

Unified Dashboard Design
Instead of navigating through multiple pages, users now enjoy a single, centralized dashboard with clearly organized tabs. This approach ensures:
- Seamless navigation, using parameters that keep tabs open during sessions.
- Quick access to update personal information, manage or cancel online giving, and opt into areas of interest.
- Embedded surveys that collect donor information without disrupting the experience.

Easy Online Giving Management
All online giving tools have been brought together in one place. This centralized view includes:
- Fundraising history, recurring gifts, and key giving statistics at a glance.
- A simplified gift cancellation flow that encourages pausing a donation instead of full cancellation.
- A clear, user-friendly interface for updating payment details.
- Support for updating fundraising goals, including automated emails when users reach their goals.

My Fundraising Hub
Users can now easily view and manage all the fundraisers they’ve registered for in one place. It’s a personal hub that keeps their activities organized and accessible.

Smarter, Friendlier Login Flow
The default Luminate Online login experience can be confusing—many constituents already have accounts but don’t realize it. To address this:
- We built a custom login flow that detects if a user clicks through from an email.
- If the system finds a matching email address, it alerts the user and provides a smooth path forward to log in or reset credentials—reducing friction and support requests.
By consolidating tools and streamlining interactions, we’ve transformed the Member Center into a modern, user-first experience that supports deeper engagement and long-term giving.


The Result:
We were able to enhance the donor experience by providing donors a unique platform to manage their donor information, tracking giving history, gamifying the experience by setting a fundraising goal, and streamlining fundraising processes, such as updating their credit card information, and more.

- Children’s Wisconsin wanted to enhance their marketing emails beyond the sample blocks provided by Engaging Networks. The goal was to create blocks with new and unique designs that were still easily customized within the email builder and would look and function across various email clients.
- The Food Bank of Central Louisiana set out to elevate its donor experience and improve internal fundraising operations. To achieve this goal, they decided to move from DonorPerfect to Fundraise Up, seeking a more intuitive platform for staff and a more engaging, customizable giving experience for donors.
