Engaging Networks Smart Pages: A Quick-Start Fundraising Page for the Right Situation

Engaging Networks® recently launched Smart Pages, a simplified fundraising page experience designed to get you from zero to live without writing a line of code or waiting on a developer. If you’re already using EN and have ever felt like launching a basic donation page took more effort than the campaign warranted, Smart Pages was built with you in mind. But like any new feature, it’s not the right tool for every situation. Here’s a straightforward look at what Smart Pages can do, where it shines, and where it still has some ground to cover before it can replace your existing Page Builder setup.
What Are Engaging Networks Smart Pages?
Smart Pages is a new page-building experience that sits alongside EN’s existing Page Builder. The workflow is built around two steps: configure your global settings once, then spin up individual fundraising pages that automatically inherit those settings.
In global settings, you’ll set your branding — fonts, colors, logos, footer content, opt-ins, and analytics. Once that’s done, each new Smart Page starts pre-styled and on-brand. Individual pages can then be adjusted from those global defaults if needed.

When building a page, you’ll choose from two layout options and decide which features to enable. Current options include fee cover, a monthly upsell lightbox, monthly gift animation, tribute giving, and impact text on gift amount buttons. Think of it as a pre-packaged set of tools: you get a clean, effective setup right out of the box, but you can’t add custom elements or change the fundamental way the page works.

When Does a Smart Page Make Sense?
Fast to Launch, No Developer Required
The biggest draw here is speed. There’s no custom HTML, no CSS overrides, and no need to touch a page template to get your colors, fonts, or logo to look the way they should. If your team has been relying on a developer to build or update donation pages in Page Builder, Smart Pages removes that dependency entirely. For time-sensitive campaigns or lower-complexity giving pages where branding consistency matters more than customization, this is a real advantage.
Mobile-Optimized Out of the Box
Both Smart Page layout templates are fully mobile-optimized. Responsiveness is built in, so you’re not testing layouts or patching display issues after the fact.
No PCI Scanning Per Page
Because Smart Pages doesn’t allow custom code, EN handles PCI compliance scanning at the layout level rather than requiring you to scan each individual page. That’s one less item on your compliance checklist.
Where do Smart Pages Fall Short (For Now)?
Smart Pages is genuinely useful for straightforward campaigns, but there are some meaningful gaps to be aware of before you commit.
No gift designations. If donors need to direct their gift to a specific fund or program, Smart Pages can’t support that. For hospital foundations and organizations with multiple giving areas, Smart Pages won’t cover most of your campaigns, though it could still work for a simple, general giving page.
No custom or additional fields. You can’t add fields beyond what’s built in. If your campaign needs to collect anything beyond standard donor information, you’ll need Page Builder.
Payment options are limited. Smart Pages works exclusively with Stripe and PayPal One Touch gateways. If your organization uses a different payment processor, Smart Pages isn’t an option yet — and EN has confirmed no additional gateways are currently planned.

For campaigns that need any of the above, Page Builder remains the right tool. Smart Pages isn’t a replacement; it’s an addition to your toolkit for the situations where it fits. Make sure to let Engaging Networks know your feedback because they are always enhancing and updating their tool.
